It’s always time for mantel clocks!

A mantelpiece topped with a beautiful antique clock is always a good idea. While we looove combing through antique and flea markets for beautiful old clocks, there are many modern alternatives to suit any decor or mantel style. Here are few looks we’re loving these days to get you inspired…

painted clock

This painted wall clock will surely inspire some of you DIYers. How wonderfully simple! Just paint that thing right on the wall! We can do this!! Grab a stencil and voila. So many possibilities…

wallclock

This wall clock is so chic, and is simultaneously modern while fitting in perfectly with the rustic “farmhouse” interior. Another potential DIY project that would be entirely manageable even for a tech luddite like myself. Love the varying thickness in the numbers – unique.

Who says you can only have one clock? Find a bunch of interesting clocks and cover your mantel in them! Love how these two examples stick within a “theme” for their clocks – it ties everything together for a look that is just the right amount of whimsy and intention. The top example uses beautiful and classic sterling silver to tie the clocks together with the candlesticks, while the bottom combines a few atomic-age retro clocks for a fun but mature look.

brickclock

No mantel included in this pic, but I’m just loving this minimalist and modern take on the digital clock. This would be so chic on top of a sleek white and grey marble mantel. Definitely something for those who like “all white” decor trend…

french clock

Mon dieu! We love all things French and this antique street clock is just so gorge! Another example of an old clock that is (ahem) timeless in its style. There is a definite “shabby chic” Moulin Rouge thing going on here and we say yaaaassss. The distressed old books in the hearth are also a nice touch. You just can’t go wrong with French inspired interior design. 🙂
